VELIKO TARNOVO, KAZANLAK AND PLOVDIV, 3 DAYS TOUR

  We will meet behind St. Alexander Nevski Cathedral at 09:00 a.m. and will set off to Veliko Tarnovo. First we will stop to visit one of the most beautiful caves named Saeva dupka – the underground pearl of Stara Planina mountain. The visit to the cave is not very long – less than an hour after which we go to Veliko Tarnovo city.
  As we will arrive at noon there first of all we will take a sit for lunch. The programme continues with a walking tour during which we will visit Tsarevets Fortress – the most popular and attractive place in the city. We will walk around the ancient ruins enjoying the views, and will enter in the patriarchal church with its stark modern interior and the dramatic murals. We will make a walk in Samovodska Charshia – a square where the people of nearby Samovodene village came to sell their home-grown produce in the second half of the 19th century, and will visit the Asenevtsi monument which was built in 1985 to celebrate the 800th anniversary of the uprising of Asen and Petar, which led to the liberation of Bulgaria from the Byzantine Empire. At around 17:00 o’clock we will check-in in the hotel and after that you will have enough free time to explore the city by your own. Overnight in Veliko Tarnovo.

  Before 09:00 o’clock you should take your breakfast in the hotel as after that we start with a tour to Arbanassi – it’s known for the rich history and large number of historical monuments and examples of Bulgarian National Revival architecture. We will make a walk there and will visit the Nativity of Christ church. After that we set off to Kazanlak but on our way will stop in Shipka area where will take a look of Shipka monument and Shipka memorial church. Here will make our break for lunch and in the afternoon we go to Goliama Kosmatka Thracian Temple and after that in Kazanlak where will visit the world famous Thracian tomb – a UNESCO heritage. We offer an optional dinner (only during the hot seasons as its open-area restaurant; it’s not included in the package price) in a traditional folklore restaurant with show programme. Overnight in Kazanluk or around Kazanlak.

  Breakfast in the hotel. At 09:00 o’clock we head up to Skobelevo village where the Damascena ethnographic complex is – the famous rose oil and rose water are being produced here. At noon we will be in Plovdiv city where we will stop for lunch before going ahead with the walking tour of the city. In Plovdiv you will have half day so to be able to feel the atmosphere of the city. Your guide will conduct you to the old town and will show you the fabulous remains of the Ancient Roman Empire: the Roman stadium, the Roman Forum, and the Amphitheater as well as the typical houses in the Old Town. Free time for shopping or exploring the city. The expecting time of arrival in Sofia is 18:30 o’clock.
